Florida is constitutionally required to balance its budget each fiscal year. Unlike the federal government, the state cannot spend more than it receives in revenue and cannot carry unresolved deficits. This year’s Revenue Estimating Conference has determined the gap between anticipated revenues and needs to be within a range of $2.9 billion to $4.6 billion. [...]
